The Project
The Old Vicarage had stood largely untouched since the 1840s — a building of genuine architectural merit, but one that had fallen into significant disrepair. Our task was to restore it with absolute fidelity to the original fabric while adding a carefully considered rear extension that would allow a modern family to live comfortably within it. Every original feature was catalogued, repaired or replicated. The extension, set back from the principal elevation, introduces light-filled open-plan living without competing with the character of the listed building.
The Client's Vision
"To breathe new life into a neglected piece of local history — creating a family home that respects the past while meeting the demands of contemporary living. The clients were passionate about retaining every original detail possible."
